Work out net run rate for one match or a whole tournament. Enter overs as 12.3 for 12 overs and 3 balls; it is converted to balls (75) before calculating.
RESULT
If a team is all out, the full quota of overs counts, not the overs actually faced. Rain-affected matches use the revised target and overs, which this tool does not apply.
How net run rate works
Net run rate (NRR) is the runs per over a team scores, minus the runs per over it concedes, across all its matches. It is the usual tie-breaker when teams finish level on points.
Overs are converted to balls first, because 12.3 overs means 12 overs and 3 balls (75 balls), not 12.3 x 6. If a team is bowled out, the full quota of overs counts as faced, even if it was dismissed earlier.
For a tournament, add up all runs scored and all overs faced, add up all runs conceded and all overs bowled, then take the difference of the two overall rates. Averaging each match’s NRR gives the wrong answer.
